Fifty years, and we're doing it properly

Yemi turns 50 in 2027, and a quiet dinner wasn't going to cut it. Family and friends are flying into Marrakesh for a long weekend at a private villa. Thursday to Saturday. Good food, warm nights, loud music and the people who've known him longest, all in one place.

Accommodation is being finalised now. Everything lands on this page first, and the WhatsApp group gets the running commentary.

The Destination

Marrakesh, Morocco. Red city, blue skies, a villa with a pool and enough room for all of us.

The Date

March 2027, across a Thursday to Saturday. Exact dates are being confirmed and will be posted here.

The Style

Black tie optional. Smart casual is welcome. Wear the thing you've been saving.

Getting there

Guests book and pay for their own flights.

Nearest airport is Marrakesh Menara (RAK). Fly into RAK and you're roughly 20 minutes from the villa by car.

Accommodation contributions

Numbers are still being worked out with the villa. Once they're confirmed, they go up here.

Dress code

Come dressed in your finest casual — whatever makes you feel good under warm sunshine. Traditional attire is absolutely welcomed and encouraged; an agbada, a kaftan, a dashiki, a boubou — if it's meaningful to you, wear it with pride.

Marrakesh in March is beautifully warm during the day and gently cool in the evenings, so think light, breezy fabrics, rich colours, and comfortable shoes you can dance in. There is no dress code to stress over — just come looking and feeling like the best version of yourself.
